Bio/Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Report (B/POR), a monthly newsletter, is founded by Jim Miller to address the bio/pharma outsourcing industry from a strategic business perspective. Its initial focus is to serve those who manage outsourcing efforts for the Bio/Pharma industry, including pharmaceutical company sourcing and procurement executives. The company takes on consulting engagements focused on strategic outsourcing solutions developed through specialized analytical research.
1998
PharmSource Information Services, Inc. is incorporated in Virginia.
The annual Directory of Contract Services is published as a tool for Bio/Pharma sourcing and procurement officers. Development of the database of contract service providers is underway.
1999
PharmSource launches its corporate web site at www.pharmsource.com.
2000
PharmSource introduces Online News & Analysis and Contractor Updates to the range of services available via its corporate web site.
2001
The contractor database, PharmSource.com Online Service, is made available by subscription to sourcing executives, including direct access to PharmSource’s online search engine. New due diligence features, including financial performance and known lists of clients, are added to the contractor database.
PharmSource moves to new offices in Annandale, Virginia.
2002
PharmSource introduces Knowledge Base online, featuring Best Practices and Industry Analysis articles. Topics of interest including contract drafting and negotiation, project and relationship management, risk management, vendor selection, and others provide useful insight to sourcing management.
PharmSource begins development of the Contractor’s Lead Sheet, its specialized lead-generation resource for bio/pharma service providers.
2003
The Contractor’s Lead Sheet (CLS) is launched commercially. PharmSource introduces this web-based business development and market intelligence resource for pharma and biotech service providers. The CLS identifies fresh business opportunity leads for subscribers each week.
2004
PharmSource Intelligence Services are introduced to support the responsibilities of bio/pharma sourcing, development and strategy professionals. Services include successful forecasting and planning, strategy development, and competitive analysis.
Additional features are added to Pharmsource.com Online Service including the Side-by-Side Comparison capability, which enables users to compare “at a glance” the detailed manufacturing capabilities of up to ten companies at a time.
The next generation of Pharmsource.com Online Service replaces the print version of the Directory of Contract Services, which now is available exclusively online.
PharmSource introduces the Lead Sheet Quarterly, a free monthly e-publication that offers sales tips and industry insight for suppliers to Bio/Pharma.
2005
The Contractor’s Lead Sheet is renamed the PharmSource Lead Sheet (PLS).
The Lead Sheet Quarterly is renamed the PharmSource PERISCOPE. This e-zine companion to the PharmSource Lead Sheet delivers additional content, including sales advice and a Prospect Profile article highlighting new sourcing opportunities likely to result from a newly financed Bio/Pharma company.
PharmSource moves to new offices in Fairfax, Virginia.
2006
Recognizing the symbiotic success of both products, Bio/Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Report (B/POR) and the Pharmsource.com Online Service are successfully combined into a single subscription service.
2007
Pharmsource.com Online Service is rebranded as PharmSource ADVANTAGE. This service includes Bio/Pharmaceutical Outsourcing Report (B/POR), the contactor database, and access to two proprietary article databases: Sourcing and Supply Chain Practices and Industry Analysis.
PharmSource introduces a new newsletter, LCC Sourcing Digest, as an integral part of PharmSource ADVANTAGE. This monthly newsletter provides analysis and insight into bio/pharma outsourcing in low-cost countries.
2008
LCC Sourcing Digest is renamed Emerging Markets Outsourcing Report. The new name reflects industry recognition of the rapidly growing economies of Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, and their impact on bio/pharmaceutical sourcing and economic growth.
